KRFK BENEFICIARIES OVER THE YEARS

RAZOM • UKRAINE

Razom means “together” in Ukrainian and serves as a constant reminder of the community that it takes to create, build and do. Razom Relief Program focuses on children who've lost their parents to the Russian invasion.

This year, Razom Relief initiated a holiday Toy Drive that reached more than 1,000 children and teens in 23 regions, bringing them toys, treats, furnishing school supplies, warm coats, and providing power banks to keep teens connected during power outages. Razom is trying to bring a bit of childhood magic to children who have faced unimaginable loss.

KIDSAVE • UKRAINE

Kidsave’s work in Ukraine assists children and families affected by the war. Their team is working diligently to get orphans out of Ukraine and to deliver humanitarian and medical aid, and protective gear. As of September, Kidsave has brought nearly 30,000 people to safety, over 14,000 of which are children. They’ve also delivered over 1000 tons of humanitarian aid. Kidsave will not abandon these kids in the coming months and years when they’ll need the most help. They are in it for the long haul.

COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS • NYC

CAMP HOMEWARD BOUND

A staggering 1 out of 10 students in NYC is homeless. We’ve joined with the Coalition For The Homeless in the fight to end the homelessness crisis. Kids Rock For Kids is donating half the net proceeds from the Come Together Festival to Camp Homeward Bound - the nation’s first summer sleep-away camp designed specifically for homeless kids. Every summer, CHB holds three 16-day sessions with 120 campers per session. Campers range in age from 7 to 15, with older kids able to return as Counselors-in-Training and Junior Counselors. The lakefront campsite in beautiful Harriman State Park, upstate NY, provides respite from the grinding boredom and sweltering heat of the shelter system in the long summer months.

THE FELIX PROJECT • LONDON

4.7 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 2 million children are at risk of missing the next meal. Meanwhile, our food industry generates 3 million tonnes of good, edible surplus food each year. We have almost 4,000 Londoners volunteer with The The Felix Project.

We rescue good, surplus food from the food industry that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. This is high-quality and nutritious, including a high proportion of fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, salads, meat, and fish. We collect or receive food from over 400 locations, including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants, and delis.

We then sort and then deliver this food to almost 1000 front-line charities, primary schools, and holiday programs in London. That way, food that would have gone to waste is reaching vulnerable people, homeless, people with mental health or those who simply cannot afford to buy regular, healthy food. Our food reaches over 400 thousand Londoners every week.

UNICEF

During the pandemic, UNICEF led the largest vaccine distribution in our history. Billions of vaccines, masks, gloves - even soap and water - were sent around the world to fight COVID-19. Plus with 90% of the world’s schools closed, UNICEF supported distance-learning to over 274 million children.

AFCECO ORPHANAGES • AFGHANISTAN

For 17 years, AFCECO orphanages have sheltered and educated children coming from extreme poverty, displacement and violence. These children do more than survive at AFCECO: they thrive. Several of their girls have gone on to join Zohra Orchestra, Afghanistan’s first all-female orchestra which has performed at prestigious events around the world. We’re honored that kids in the Mehan Orphanage performed in 2017 and 2018 at the Kids Rock For Kids shows — live via Skype!

DREAM ON AWARD • NYC

Kids Rock For Kids and Gowanus Music Club join forces to offer the Dream On Award - providing scholarships for students who demonstrate passion for rock and roll, musical ability, commitment, and financial need. Gowanus Music Club in Brooklyn, NYC inspires kids to find their musical paths and help students develop the skills to listen, jam, write, collaborate, and learn their favorite songs. They bring the joy of music to students, plus the life lessons of being in a band!
