1st PLACE: $1,000 spree
2nd PLACE: $300 spree
8 contenders: $50 gift cards each

• WHERE: DROM, East Village, NYC on Ave A between 5 & 6 Streets.

RULES FOR ENTRY:
*AGES: As of 2/4/23, all band members must be 20 or younger AND at least half have to be 15 or older. In other words, band members under 15 are allowed as long as HALF of the band members are over 15.
Bands must have a minimum of 3 members.
Only accepting submissions from bands that are not signed to a major label.
All members must be from NYC or Long Island (don’t worry, there will be future Battles including more locations!)
As a band, you’ve played at least one live show, with at least half your current lineup intact.
MUSIC STYLE: Any variety/combo of rock, pop, or hip hop. Covers or originals.
A player can be in 2 bands, but not if there is another overlapping player in both bands.
No backing tracks. This is not an artistic statement -- we have nothing against backing tracks! It's purely a logistical issue.
Performers related to KRFK Board members are not eligible.

Tickets required - this is a fundraiser for KRFK! (band members are comped, obvi!)
HOW TO APPLY:
STEP 1 : BY JANUARY 3, SUBMIT ENTRY FORMS!
Each BAND must submit the Entry Form below.
Each BAND MEMBER must submit a Participation Waiver below.
Under 18? Parent/guardian must sign the waiver.
STEP 2 : BY JANUARY 3, SUBMIT VIDEO.
Video of your band performing a full song live, max 4 minutes. Nothing fancy! It could be shot on a Smartphone in your living room, if it sounds decent.
Videos will be judged by a panel outside of Kids Rock For Kids.
Judging criteria: Energy, vibe, musicality, tightness - a great performance!
By submitting a video, you consent that we are authorized to use the video in any marketing and promotion surrounding the event.
Submit a video to bands@KidsRockForKids.com via Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer - whatever you like.
STEP 3 : Prepare for the show while you wait to hear from us!
Start preparing 3 songs (each 4 minutes max). Lyrics cannot include profanity, derogatory remarks, sexually explicit content or violence. Don’t risk disqualification! Questions? Let us know.
STEP 4 : JANUARY 8 - Watch your DMs / email! Selected bands are announced!
STEP 5 : FEBRUARY 4 - THE SHOW!
Bands are expected to promote the event. Share ticket info with your friends, family and fans !!
DROM in the East Village. Sound check required at 10 AM. Showtime at 1 PM!
WE PROVIDE drums, a keyboard, and a full backline.
THE BATTLE - 3 ROUNDS
ROUND 1 : 10 BANDS
Each band plays 1 song (4 minutes max). Four bands will be selected to advance to Round 2.
ROUND 2 : 4 BANDS
Each band plays 1 song (4 minutes max). Two bands will be selected to advance to the Final Round.
ROUND 3 : The Finals!
The two final bands will each play 1 song (4 minutes max).
Judging criteria: Energy, vibe, musicality, tightness, interaction with the audience - a great performance!
No pyrotechnics, stage-dives or biting the head off a bat :)
